My Review Of A Legendary Lens

Baby Roo Dog shot in my yard with the Canon 70-200mm f2.8 Mark 1

As a seasoned photographer who has owned the Canon EF 70-200mm IS Mark III lens for a while, I can confidently say that it's one of the best investments I've made for my photography gear. I’ve owned previous versions of this exact lens and the mark iii offers some welcome upgrades. I frequently shoot portraits, events, landscape and wildlife, and this lens has consistently delivered stunning results.

One of the first things that struck me about this lens was its solid build quality. Even after using it extensively in various shooting conditions, it still feels sturdy and well-constructed. The focus ring and zoom ring are smooth and responsive, and I appreciate the weather-sealing that helps protect the lens in inclement weather.

In terms of image quality, the 70-200mm IS Mark III lens has consistently impressed me with its sharpness, color accuracy, and contrast. Even at wide apertures, such as f/2.8, it produces detailed and beautiful images. The image stabilization is also excellent, allowing me to shoot handheld at slower shutter speeds without worrying about camera shake.

The autofocus is another standout feature of this lens. It's fast, accurate, and reliable, even in low-light conditions. I've never had any issues with the lens struggling to lock onto my subjects. Additionally, the bokeh is gorgeous, thanks to the 9-blade circular aperture.

The lens's new air sphere coating has also been a welcome addition, as it helps reduce lens flare and ghosting in backlit situations. Overall, I can confidently say that the Canon EF 70-200mm IS Mark III lens is a top-performing telephoto zoom lens that is worth the investment for any serious photographer.
