Sony FE 85mm F1.8

The Sony FE 85mm f1.8 is a lens that has been around for a while now, but it continues to be a popular choice among portrait photographers. I recently had the opportunity to use this lens for a few weeks and I was impressed with its performance.

First and foremost, the lens is incredibly sharp. The 85mm focal length combined with the wide aperture of f1.8 makes it an ideal choice for portraiture. The images I captured with this lens were tack sharp, with excellent detail and clarity. The bokeh was also beautiful, with a smooth, creamy background blur that really made my subjects stand out.

The autofocus performance of this lens is also noteworthy. It is fast and accurate, even in low light situations. I tested it in a variety of lighting conditions, including indoors with limited natural light, and it performed admirably.

The build quality of the lens is also impressive. It feels solid in the hand and is well balanced on my Sony a7 III. The focus and aperture rings are smooth and easy to operate, and the lens hood fits snugly and securely.

One downside of the lens is that it does not have image stabilization. However, I didn't find this to be a major issue when shooting with a fast shutter speed and a stable hand.

Overall, the Sony FE 85mm f1.8 is an excellent choice for portrait photographers. It offers outstanding sharpness, beautiful bokeh, and fast autofocus performance, all in a well-built package. If you're in the market for a high-quality portrait lens, the Sony FE 85mm f1.8 is definitely worth considering.
